Beautiful Auroras..
Those countries in the far northern hemisphere...Must be a gifted place to witness such beautiful as well as astonishing sights in the winter. Those Auroras...ah..!! must be so beautiful to watch.Being from a tropical country it's one of my dreams that I want to live atleast once. I am sure that many of my friends on hive are a big fan of Auroras. If not though then these interesting facts will definitely make you fall in love with Auroras:

Auroras that occur in the northern Hemisphere are known as 'Northern Lights' or 'Aurora Borealis' whereas those occuring in the southern hemisphere are known as 'Southern Lights' or 'Aurora Australis'.
Actually the name 'Aurora' came from the name of Roman goddess of the dawn and 'Boreas' means north wind in Greek.
Aurora dance in circular patterns through the sky, spectrum of lights in wonderful colors which can be green, blue, red or purple.
Some other interesting facts:
The most spectacular Aurora Borealis in history are considered from the “Great geomagnetic storm” on 28 August and 2 September 1859.It is said that such a solar storm of this magnitude occurring today would likely cause widespread problems for modern civilization.
It was the Italian astronomer and philosopher Galileo Galilei who was the first to describe the phenomenon as Aurora Borealis in 1619.
